Ford’s Garage takes the love of cars to a different level, a culinary one.

This white beauty is permanently parked outside of the Cape Coral location.
After a day of sightseeing at the Edison-Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers, Florida, I joined my hungry family and headed to the garage. Ford’s Garage takes burgers and beer and puts them in the coziest of settings, the garage. They traded the usual gasoline fumes for an extra dose of fun.
Cars loom above the bar, their wheels rotating throughout your meal. Occasionally you’ll be surprised when someone blows the horn or smoke puffs out of the exhaust pipe. The food is typical bar food with a great selection of beers, including lots of local brews. Signature cocktails, called Ford Fusions, take old favorites and add beer. My Mustang Mary came with a side car of the beer mixed in my drink. That Bloody Mary-like cocktail was so spicy I was delighted to have a drink to quench my thirst.

This isn’t just a bloody mary. It’s a Mustang Mary with a sidecar of local beer. And there’s beer as well as vodka in the drink.
They’re all good for washing down the hearty pub food, including burgers, buffalo wings and sandwiches.

I usually don’t take pictures in the bathroom. Had to show you this.
Ford’s four locations. During my week in Fort Myers, I managed to see two of them. The downtown Fort Myers location is cozier but the Cape Coral site seems much bigger and with its gas pumps out front and a bank of garage doors, it feels more like you’ve joined the mechanics for lunch.

Oh, we drove past one of these when on holiday in FL and were wondering what kind of place it was! Now I know – thanks for sharing 🙂
I had heard about it last year but couldn’t get there. This year I said we’re going — and then we visited two locations. Fun.
