You never know what you’ll see at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. You expect cactus, boojum trees and lizards. But an exuberantly-colored bougainvillea carefully kept as a bonsai tree? As I say over and over again, when I visit here, Wow.

  1. I visited the Phoenix Botanical Garden when they were showing an exhibit of glass artworks among the cactus. It was a rainy evening, and the illuminated glass work looked like exotic growths echoing the odd shapes of the cactus and succulents – magical!
